Dianne Feeley, Autoworker Caravan -- April 1, 2019
Dianne Feeley, a retired Detroit autoworker, has transitioned from work on the line to pushing issues key for the rank-and-file caucus, Autoworker Caravan. Her activities with Autoworker Caravan include fighting to prevent the latest round auto plant closures and pushing GM to switch from single-owner vehicles to production of mass transit vehicles. Her broader Detroit activism includes a focus on the city's income inequality and affordable housing struggles. Additionally, she is an editor and writer for Solidarity's journal, Against the Current. In this SCNCC Forum, Dianne shares her views on the Green New Deal and the opportunities for autoworkers to assume greater control of the places where they work and to push the plants toward a reduced energy use future.
